Springfield Sites Tour: Friday, June 14th

Keith Zaltzberg (RDG Principal and Springfield Projects Manager) will lead a tour of three sites in Springfield, MA that tackle urban stream dynamics, rainwater catchment and infiltration, and urban farming. We’ll go from big picture challenges and opportunities to small-scale interventions that build ecological resilience in urban settings.

  1. The Abbey Brook “headwaters” at Renaissance High School;
  2. Rain gardens at Renaissance and the Springfield Museums; and
  3. Gardening the Community’s Walnut Street Farm.

LOGISTICS:
4:00 – 5:00 – Abbey Brook/Renaissance High School*, 1170 Carew St.
5:00 – 5:45 – Springfield Museums, 21 Edwards St
5:45 – 6:30 – GTC’s Walnut Street Farm, 200 Walnut St

*At Renaissance High School, please park in the back of the lot near the guard rail/woodland edge.

SUGGESTED DONATION:
$10 – $25
All proceeds will go to Gardening the Community; nobody will be turned away for lack of funds.
