Edible Ecosystem Work Day
April 8, 2017
Wellesley College, Wellesley, MA
Welcome one and all to the Wellesley College Botanic Garden’s Spring Workday at the Edible Ecosystem Teaching Garden!
Spring 2017 marks the beginning of the garden’s 7th growing season. We have implemented much over the years, and we’ve seen growth, losses, and changes. We are learning and that’s the point. Come share your heart and the sweat of your brow and we’ll share what we can of what this garden has taught us.
We will be there 9-5 on Saturday, April 8 doing a little planting, some mulching, laying compost around some trees and shrubs, and managing woody weeds. We’ll also have a chance to observe and discuss the effects of the drought last summer on the plantings and share what we’ve learned.
Come rain, come shine. Bring your own lunch, water, and work gloves. If you have a wheelbarrow and shovel or iron rake you can bring to share and use, that would probably help!
Wellesley College Botanic Gardens are on the Wellesley College grounds at 106 Central St., Wellesley, MA, outside of Boston. If you go on Google Maps and search for “Edible Ecosystem Teaching Garden Wellesley College, MA” it should show you the garden’s location on the campus, just west of the Whitin Observatory. Parking is in the large lots east of the Science Center.
Please RSVP to Dave Jacke if and when you plan on coming so we can plan our work teams.
Thanks much and see you there!
Dave and the crew.
